Truth is a writer

neighborhoodr:

This week my friend jazz musician Eef van Breen is in New York. Today, at, 2.30pm he and his band are walking down from the Metropolitan Museum to Grand Central singing a song, especially composed for this occasion. You’re invited to come and sing along! Rehearsals start at 2pm in front of the museum.

I’m really curious how it went! Eef’s in New York also because his new composition premieres in Carnegie Hall tomorrow. Played by cellist Amber Docters van Leeuwen, who has her Carnegie Hall debut. Exciting!

I never asked but I heard you cast your lot along with the poor.
But then I overheard your prayer,
that you be this and nothing more
than just some grateful faithful woman’s favourite singing millionaire,
the patron Saint of envy and the grocer of despair,
working for the Yankee Dollar.
